Clau Nader is an audio engineer, educator and researcher specialised in immersive sound design for film, TV, audio-visual media, advertising, and sonic art installations. Their work has featured in numerous festivals in Latin America, East Asia, Europe and the USA.Rooted in anti-racism, inclusion, accessibility and sustainability, Clau's interdisciplinary research background ranges from psychoacoustics, media studies, computer-human interaction, to sociology, psychology and public health. They have extensive experience in applied health research focused on creative digital interventions for mental health and wellbeing, especially for young populations.In 2024, Clau was awarded a PhD in Theatre, Film, Television and Interactive Media at the School of Arts and Creative Technologies (SoACT) of the University of York. Later on, they joined the Mental Health and Addiction Research Group at York's Department of Health Sciences where they currently work as a Research Associate for the SCriPT Project. Clau is a Postdoctoral Fellow at York’s Humanities Research Centre and worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Sound Production and Postproduction for Film and TV, as well as a Visiting Lecturer in Audio Cultures and Modernities for SoACT.Clau is a social justice advocate and active member of Soundgirls.org, the Audio Engineering Society and the Yorkshire Sound Women Network empowering and supporting underrepresented groups in the creative industries.
